Description

The Hurst is an 18th-century building, altered subsequently. The front is constructed of painted red brick, with two storeys and three windows, each a sash window with glazing bars. A panelled double door is set within a plain arched recess, above which is a fanlight. The roof is tiled, with two gabled dormers. A single-storey barn wing adjoins the building to the right. The building was extended to the rear in the early 19th century, using gault brick and a hipped slate roof, and incorporating sash windows with glazing bars. A prominent feature is a large bow window on the south front.
