Description
The Manor House Hotel, originally the manor house, dates from the 16th century with 17th century and later alterations. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure with a continuous jetty on the street facade, supported by jetty brackets with carved bases. The roof is covered in plain tiles, with a large central gable and a pair of small jettied gables on the north side. There is an end stack made of gault brick to the north and a tall ridge stack with a moulded brick plinth and a square shaft with a cornice to the south of the main gable. The building has four modern first-floor, three-light casement windows, and two modern bay windows flanking the door, along with a three-light casement window to the south. The interior has been altered but retains exposed very fine moulded ceiling beams and joists, as well as an inglenook hearth.
