Description
Number 10 is a house with garden boundary walls located on Middle Street, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with mid-19th century and later alterations. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring dressed, gauged stone arches and jambs, and has a Collyweston stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high with attics and has parapet gables with end stacks, ashlar shafts, and a moulded cornice. The house has a symmetrical three-bay façade, with a four-panelled door and a rectangular fanlight above it. There are two replacement casement windows on the ground floor and two original three-light casement windows on the first floor, along with an original three-light window. Additionally, there are two gabled dormer windows and a fire insurance plaque above the door. Inside, the west room has a sealed hearth, boxed and stop-chamfered cross beams, and six-panelled doors. The garden is enclosed by a boundary wall, which features a low wall to the south topped with cast iron railings, along with gate piers and a matching pair of gates.
