Description
The gate, piers, and railings to the garden at the north-west corner of Holmewood Hall date from around 1875. They are made of cast iron, painted black, and are mounted on a low brick wall topped with a plain chamfered limestone coping. The single gate features S and C scroll decoration, which is also echoed in the lower panels of the railings and the overthrow. The railings are divided by a central frieze, with the upper section consisting of double twisted balusters supported by scroll brackets and ending in ball finials. The verticals and newels have larger finials, and the railings extend to the start of the ha-ha at the north-east boundary of the garden.
