Description

There are two chest tombs located west of the pathway on the north side of the church, dating from the late 18th century. Both tombs are made of limestone and feature a moulded edge at the top and base. They have fluted panels at the corners and oval tablets for inscriptions on the sides, decorated with a fan motif in the spandrels. One tomb displays a glory above a female figure representing Hope, who holds an anchor and has an urn that is partially draped. The other end of this tomb features a swagged and raised curtain above a female weeper. The second chest tomb is similar in design to the first.
