Description
Halfpenny House is a house built around 1841. It is constructed of local brick with red brick dressings around the door and window surrounds. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with plain tiles, featuring end parapets and end stacks with projecting capping. The building has a plan of two parallel linked ranges and stands two storeys high. There are three gabled and parapetted eaves dormers, with the parapet resting on kneelers. The house has three casement windows with glazing bars, each with moulded and cut brick reveals that terminate in pointed arches. On either side of the original, parapetted, gabled porch, there are two similar windows. The porch features a four-centred outer arch made of moulded red brick, and the inner archway contains the original door flanked by two pointed and glazed lights, along with a similar panel.
