Description
No 24 on London Road is a late 18th century or early 19th century L-plan house made of gault brick. It features a plain tiled roof with tumbled parapet gables and a saw-tooth eaves cornice, along with end stacks. The house has two storeys and attics, with three flat-roofed dormers. The front is symmetrical with a three-window range of hung sashes set in cambered arches. The central doorway is framed by a doorcase that includes reeded, engaged columns, an entablature with boss enrichments on the frieze, a continuous frieze band, a dentilled cornice, and a triangular pediment. The door itself is panelled, and there are reveals around it. To the right, there is a modern bow window. Inside, the house features an early 19th century open-string staircase with three flights and square section balusters.
