Description
The building at Park Street No 15, known as the Post Office, dates from the late 18th century. It is two storeys high with attics, constructed of yellow local brick. The roof is a modern tiled mansard with end stacks. There are three dormers featuring hung sash windows with glazing bars. On the first floor, two hung sash windows with glazing bars are set in moulded architraves, flanking a central canted oriel window that also has hung sashes and glazing bars. The central doorway is framed by a doorcase that includes fluted pilasters, an enriched broken pediment, and flush-panelled reveals. The door itself is semi-circular. To the left, there is an inserted canted bay window, and to the right, a single hung sash window with glazing bars. At the rear, there is a 19th-century wing with an internal stack and a slate roof.
