Description

There are two stone piers, each topped with a sculpture of an eagle, located at No. 11 Portland Place in Whittlesey. These piers date from the late 17th century and are made of rubblestone and limestone. The eagles are depicted with their wings inverted and are still in their original position. They originally served as the entrance to the garden of Portland House, which has since been demolished.
