Description

Old Church House is a late 17th-century house, likely built in two phases. It comprises a main range with a crosswing projecting to the south. The house is constructed of red brick in English bond, with a low-pitched, hipped slate roof dating to the 20th century. Decorative cast iron guttering includes lion's head masks. There is a large projecting side stack to the crosswing and an end stack to the main range.

The main range has two storeys, sitting on a plinth with a band separating the floors. The windows are later hung sashes with a single, central glazing bar. The original doorway features a rubbed brick pediment with flanking pilasters. The crosswing, probably built later, is also of red brick, with repaired upper courses. The plinth incorporates some coursed limestone and the ground floor walls are thicker. The crosswing has two storeys, featuring four later hung sash windows and a later doorway.

Inside the main range, the exposed beams are stop-chamfered with run-out stops.
