Description
Batchelors Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century and late 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior featuring pargetted panels. The roof is covered with plain tiles, and there are red brick stacks at the central ridge and rear. The building has two storeys and attics, with a lower rear wing that is part of the original three-unit plan, which was rebuilt in the 17th century.
The symmetrical facade faces southwest and includes two flush framed twelve-paned hung sash windows on both the first and ground floors. There are central double doors from the 19th century, framed with a wooden architrave and a segmental pediment. A reused four-panelled door from the 18th century is located at the rear. Inside, the farmhouse features exposed wall and floor frames, as well as inglenook hearths and some 18th-century doors.
