Description
No. 5 High Street is a villa built around 1830, with an extension added to the rear around 1840. It is constructed of gault brick, featuring Flemish bond on the front and English bond on the end walls. The building has a hipped slate roof with end stacks and paired brackets supporting the boarded eaves. The villa has a double pile layout that follows the 1840 extension, running parallel to the original range. It stands two storeys tall and has a range of three recessed hung sash windows on the first floor, each with a single central glazing bar. The central doorway is set within a double recessed round-headed arch, which is decorated with reeding and a boss enrichment at the arch's rebate. The door itself is panelled and topped with a radial fanlight.
