Description
This building, known as Fenland, is a house dating from around 1800. It is constructed of gault brick, featuring Flemish bond on the front and English bond on the side. The roof is modern with plain tiles, tumbled end parapets, and an end stack. The house is designed in an L-plan and stands two storeys tall.
The symmetrical front elevation includes three tripartite hung sash windows on the first floor, each with a pointed arch set in a square head. On the ground floor, there are two similar windows with segmental arches on either side of the original doorway. The doorway is framed by a doorcase with fluted pilasters, decorative boss enrichments, and a plain entablature. The reveals are panelled, but the door itself is a later addition.
At the rear, there is a wing that was added slightly later in the 19th century, built of similar brick and also two storeys high. This wing features two original flush frame cross frame casements with leaded lights on the first floor. The ground floor has four windows, including three with pointed arches. The doorway here is set in a round-headed arch and has a flush panelled door with a fanlight above, featuring radial glazing bars.
