Description
The Figures of Hercules and Antaeus, located at Wrestlers Lawn in Anglesey Abbey, are a sculptural group dating from the late 17th century, possibly originating from the Nost/Cheere workshop. Carved from stone, these figures represent Hercules and Antaeus, known as the Wrestlers, and are inspired by an antique group found in the courtyard of the Pitti Palace in Florence. Previously, these sculptures were situated at Bell Weir House in Egham.
