Description
The School and adjoining School House were built in 1865 by Reverend W Godfrey, who was the Lord of the Manor and Rector. The buildings are constructed from knapped flint with yellow gault brick quoins and feature red brick banding and decorative window arches. They have graded slate roofs and are arranged in an L-plan, with the house located to the north-east, consisting of one storey and an attic, while the school room to the south-west is single storey. There is a lean-to porch at the angle of the buildings, which has a boarded door shaped to a pointed brick arch. The school room has two casement windows with two lights, featuring latticed iron glazing bars set in pointed brick arches, and there is a recessed brick panel in the arch. The house has similar windows that flank an open, gabled porch with a boarded door set in a painted brick arch.
