Description
The Old Vicarage is a house that was formerly the vicarage, rebuilt around 1850. It encases and re-roofs an original 16th-century timber-framed house that has a three-unit plan and a chimney stack located in the chimney bay. A servant wing to the west has been recently rebuilt, and the main roof has been extended. The building features timber frame and brick walls that are rendered, with a low-pitched hipped slate roof and one rendered brick chimney stack. It is two storeys high and has a cellar, with the main entrance located in the east gable. The south elevation includes seven flush-framed hung sash windows with side lights, as well as one similar window on the ground floor. There are also six ground floor garden casements with glazing bars and over-lights. Inside, there is a mid-19th-century staircase, chimney pieces, and four-panelled doors, along with two sealed inglenook hearths.
