Description

The railings and gates surrounding the Senate House are notable examples of early cast-iron work in England, likely among the first of their kind. They were re-erected in 1789 and completed in 1792. The design features a dwarf stone wall with Roman Doric standards and plain thick spikes in between. The gates are supported by cast-iron pedestals.
