Description
Rose Crescent features a terrace of shops with dwelling premises above, built around 1825. The building is three storeys high with attics and constructed from gault brick. It has a small stone cornice below the parapet and a stone band at the first floor cill level. The continuous wall has two windows on each upper floor for each shop, topped with flat brick arches. Some of the windows are missing glazing bars and some have wrought iron window guards.
The ground floor fronts of Nos 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 have been modernized, while the other shops retain their original fronts, although lacking glazing bars. These original fronts feature panelled pilasters with caps and pedestals on either side of the central and side doors, supporting a continuous entablature. Nos 7, 8, and 10 still have their original ornamental fanlights above the doors. There is a through archway between Nos 3 and 4, and No 11 includes an iron lamp bracket and lamp. The premises to the left of No 1, which is part of a shop on Trinity Street, has a similar shop front to those on Rose Crescent.
