Description
Nos 4 and 6 on Hills Road are early 19th century buildings made of grey gault brick, with alterations made around 1865. The ground floor of No 6 retains its original grooved stucco, while No 4 features a pilaster treatment and a single tripartite sash window. Both buildings have plat bands at all levels and heavy projecting window heads on the first floor. They rise three stories and have a total of four windows, all of which are sashes with glazing bars. The entrance includes a six-panel door with a rectangular light above it. The buildings are topped with a heavy Italianate/Florentine eaves cornice and a parapet, with the roof not visible. Nos 2 to 22 on this side of the street form a group.
