Description
Jesus College features a boundary wall, piers, and gates located on Jesus Lane, as well as walls flanking the Chimney. The walls date from the 18th century and earlier, constructed of red brick that has been extensively repaired. The walls surrounding the Chimney have triangular capping, and the east wall includes the gateway to the Master's Lodge, which is made of wrought iron and flanked by piers topped with ball finials. The main gateway is supported by rusticated piers designed by R. Grumbold in 1703, while the elegant wrought-iron gates were created around 1725.
