Description

The outbuilding to the north-east of St Clere's Hall is a large barn that dates back to the early 16th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, topped with a red plain tile roof. Inside, most of the main frame is still intact, although the first floor and principal cross partitions have been removed. The main frame features jowled storey posts, arch bracing, and stop-chamfered beams. The roof is supported by side purlins with queen posts and intermittent collars. Additionally, a midstrey has been added to the north side, which includes jettied eaves and a hipped roof.
