Description
Feoffee Cottages, a Grade II listed building, is a range of almshouses dating from the 15th century. Constructed from coursed stone rubble, it features a steeply pitched Collyweston stone roof with gabled ends and is positioned at right angles to the road. The gable end facing the road has stone coping with a finial, a buttressed corner, and a first-floor window with two ogee-headed lights and a dripmould, along with a ground-floor window that has two stone mullions. The building is two storeys high and has four windows in total. A central gable includes pigeon holes and ledges. There are two depressed 2-centred arch doorways with hood moulds and two cross slit windows, while modern casements have been added. At the eastern end, there is a later wing, likely from the early 18th century, made of stone with a Collyweston stone roof, which is two storeys high and has two windows with modern casements on the ground floor. The building also features an internal end stack and modern single-storey additions at the rear.
