Description
The building is a 18th century barn and stable range located to the south-east of Walnut Tree House. The barn, which faces the road, is constructed from coursed stone and features a steeply pitched Welsh slate roof with gabled ends. The barn doors have been glazed, and the ventilation slits have been blocked. There is a stone tablet in the end gable that reads: "The Gift of Mrs Ruth Edges to Six Decayed Gentlewomen for ever 1724." The adjoining stables, also from the 18th century, are made of coursed stone and have a steeply pitched Collyweston stone roof with stone coping on the end gables. The stables are two storeys high and include stable and loft doors, with one loft door accessible via external stone stairs, as well as ventilation slits.
