Description
The Old Rectory is a 17th-century house that was said to have served as the old rectory. It was extended to the west in the later 17th century. The building features a long range constructed from coursed stone rubble and has a steeply pitched Collyweston stone roof with coped gabled ends. It is two storeys high and has a five-window range, with two and three-light casements that have leaded panes; one window includes an ovolo moulded mullion. There are also two gabled dormers and a central fielded panel door. The house has brick and stone ridge stacks, along with a stone stack topped with brick at the north-west end. Inside, there is a 17th-century dogleg staircase with shaped slat balusters, square newels, and a moulded handrail and string. An open fireplace is located at the west end.
