Description

Marholm Farmhouse is a 17th-century house dated 1633, constructed from coursed stone rubble and topped with a thatched roof. The building has an A-shaped plan with two coped gables at the front and back; however, one of the rear gables has been replaced by a hipped roof. It is two storeys high and features three bays. The house has 17th-century stone mullion windows with two lights, adorned with triangular and segmental pediments. To the right of the centre first-floor window, there is a tablet inlaid in lead that reads "1633" along with a monogram and flower spray labeled "ENGROS." The ground floor has a late 19th-century lean-to infill that includes a ledged door and a three-light window.

The farmhouse has large rendered chimney stacks, one located off-centre on the ridge and the other over the rear wing. There are two small stone sundials at the corners and a larger sundial on the south side. At the rear, there is a small oriel window in the angle with the south wing, which previously illuminated a newel staircase that has since been removed. Additionally, a small medieval window with a cusped ogee head is found in the rear wing, likely reused from another building. Inside, the property features stopped chamfered ceiling beams and a fireplace bressumer.
