Description
Manor Farmhouse is a late 16th-century building, with a date of 1571 marked in the gable of the south wing, and a 17th-century addition to the north. The house is constructed of coursed stone rubble with freestone dressings and features a steeply pitched Collyweston stone roof. It has an H-shaped plan and stands two storeys high, with a layout of 1:3:1 bays. The end gabled wings project, and the apex of the gable on the north wing has a carved lion. There are two later gabled semi-dormers at the center. The windows are stone mullion and transom types with drip moulds, some dating from the 19th century. A modern panel is located in the left-hand (north) angle. The building has brick stacks with moulded stone cornices. Inside, there are stopped chamfered ceiling beams and a large reused stone doorway featuring pilasters and a cornice with cresting inscribed 'Anno 1571 R,, AM', likely associated with the Milsent family.
