Description

No. 13 High Street North is an early 17th century gatehouse featuring a careful design. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings. The ground floor includes a round-arched carriageway supported by Roman Doric half columns and an entablature. On the first floor, there are two three-light stone mullion casements. Above the gable, which has brick coping, is a central stone tablet. The reveals of the archway have pointed arched niches on each side. Some of the brick and stonework has been restored.
