Description
No 58 on Shortmead Street is an early 19th-century, two-storey building made of red brick. It features stucco quoins and a band between the floors. The building has a dentil eaves cornice and three double-hung sash windows with glazing bars located beneath the cornice. The central window slightly projects and has a cornice supported by consoles. The entrance consists of a six-panel door set within a surround of panelled pilasters, topped by an entablature decorated with laurel wreaths and a cornice. A third storey was added in the mid-19th century, constructed in a similar red brick. The building has a slate roof behind a parapet, and three sash windows with glazing bars that have gauged brick heads.
