Vane Cottage is a 17th-century building that has been extensively altered. It features timber-framing with whitewashed brick nogging visible on the north gable end. The facade includes a brick ground floor and a mock timber-framed second floor, topped with a clay tile roof. There are four modern casement windows and a modern gabled porch. The cottage retains its original heavy central stack.
