St James is a building with an 18th century core, but it is mainly from the 19th century. It has a T-plan layout and features a main gable end facing the road, which is roughcast. The building is two storeys high and has a hipped roof made of old clay tiles. There is a castellated parapet, and to the left of the east front, there is a two-storey castellated bay. To the right, there are three sash windows. At the rear, there is a gabled two-storey wing. The east section is constructed with red stretchers and vitrified headers, while the west section is made of red brick and has two sash windows with glazing bars.
