Description
Inglis House, also known as The Manor House, is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates from the 17th century but has been reworked in the 19th century. The exterior features colourwashed roughcast render, likely over brick, and has 20th-century tile roofs. The building is designed in an H-plan and stands two storeys high with attics.
On the ground and first floors, there are 2:3:2 arrangements of moulded wood mullion and transom windows, all fitted with leaded lights. The attic includes one window on each gable and two hipped dormers in the central block, which are all 2-light casements with leaded lights. A 20th-century porch with a pent roof is located at the centre of the building.
Notable architectural features include projecting bands at the first floor level and the cross-wing attic level, as well as a wooden modillion eaves cornice. The side elevations of the cross-wing have substantial external stacks with rebuilt diagonal shafts, while the central block has a brick ridge stack.
