Description
Grooms Cottage, which is part of the former Oakley House stables, is a building from the late 18th century or early 19th century that has been partly converted into a house. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features an old clay tile roof. The building is one storey high with attics. The right side of the cottage is slightly lower and has a hipped roof, while the left side has three gabled dormers integrated into the roof, with a fourth dormer added later at the eaves level. Additionally, there is another dormer at the right end at eaves level.
On the ground floor, there are four 2-light mullion and transom windows with glazing bars, along with two arched doorways on the left side. The right side has two doorways with fanlights; the left doorway is rectangular and the right one is arched. There are also three small, high-level 2-light casements with glazing bars.
