Description
Burdelys Manor is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century or earlier, likely built on the site of a former manor house. The house is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with a new tiled roof. It follows a T-shaped plan, with a cross wing to the left. The main two-storey section has three first-floor windows with three lights and leaded lights. A central front door is accompanied by a two-light mullion and transom window to the left. Part of the rear elevation is timber-framed with brick infill. The cross wing features a hipped roof and one three-light window to the front, along with several similar casements to the side and rear, and two buttresses. Two substantial brick stacks are present on the main building. Early 17th-century oak panelling and an oak chimney piece with superimposed Doric and Ionic orders are found in the first-floor rooms. A mid to late 17th-century oak close-string newel staircase with turned balusters is also present. To the right of the main house is a one-storey wing with attics and gabled dormers, and adjacent to it, a single-storey outbuilding.
