Description

The Church of St Thomas of Canterbury is a parish church featuring a Saxon west tower topped with a Norman storey. The chancel arch is also Norman. The nave arcades date from the late 13th century, with a third bay added around 1862 during extensive restoration work by Sir George Gilbert Scott. The chancel was completed at this time as well. Inside, there is a notable monument from 1689 dedicated to Thomas Taylor, which includes two putti at the base and an urn on top.
