Description
Acacia Cottage is a house that dates back to the 17th century, with additions and alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It features timber framed construction with a roughcast render that has been colour washed. The roof is made of clay tiles. The original structure consists of a two-room block that is one storey high with attics. There is a single-storey hipped lean-to addition to the north, which was added in the 18th century. To the south gable end, there is a two-storeyed block from the 18th century, along with a two-storeyed block that projects from the rear.
On the front elevation, there are two 3-light casements on the ground floor, a 3-light casement on the first floor of the left-hand block, and a gabled dormer with a 2-light casement in the attic of the right-hand block. The windows in the right-hand block have glazing bars. There is a blocked doorway to the left of the right-hand block. A red brick chimney stack is located to the right of the left-hand block, and there is an integral stack at the gable end of the right-hand block.
