Description
Woodlands is a former vicarage originally built in 1694, as indicated by the datestone and motto on the northeast elevation. It was extended to the south in 1836, which is also marked by a datestone and motto on the southeast gable. The building features coursed rubble limestone with some ashlar and brick dressings, along with sections of brick walling and tile hanging. The roofs are covered with Welsh slate and have red brick neo-Tudor chimney stacks. The structure has a complex and rambling plan and is two storeys high. The main entrance is located in the 19th-century part of the building, accessed through a two-storey porch with a room above. There is a large external stack on the earlier section. The garden front displays two gables and a two-storey bay window. Most windows are sashes with glazing bars set under cambered heads. At the rear, there are stables constructed of brick and limestone, with slate roofs.
