Description
The Church of St Mary is a historic building constructed from coursed limestone rubble, topped with an old clay tile roof over the chancel. The base of the west tower and the western end of the nave date back to the late 12th century. Originally, the nave consisted of three bays, with the east bay being added later. The north arcade features two bays and is from the early 13th century, while the south arcade is slightly later. The remainder of the church is in the Perpendicular style, including the top of the tower, the two-storey south porch, and the battlements. Inside, the north chapel contains a painted screen that depicts Christ seated on a rainbow, and there is a complete set of buttressed pews.
