Description

The Pakington Memorial, located about 15 metres south of the south porch of the Church of St Mary, is a cross dating from around 1841. It is possibly the work of Philip Hardwick. The memorial features an octagonal base divided into three stages, which supports an octagonal shaft topped with a finial that has four small statues. Above this is a Latin cross. The inscription, mostly illegible, is dedicated to Augusta Anne Lady Pakington, who died in 1841.
