Description

Court Farmhouse is a 17th-century house constructed of blue lias stone with some timber-framing, and with slate roofs. The house has an L-shaped plan, with the main range set back from the street and a lower range projecting forward, with a gable end facing the street. The main range is two storeys and has an attic. A large external stack is situated on the rear wall, built of limestone with a brick shaft. The west front features a timber and brick frame, with the lower half constructed of limestone and some blue lias stone. It includes a ground-floor porch and a triple casement window. Two casement windows are positioned above. The south gable end is banded with blue lias and brick, featuring a 21st-century four-light window with one casement and stone mullions, replacing an earlier stone mullion window with a hoodmould; iron casements are positioned above. The north gable is timber-framed. The lower range has a limestone west gable end, with a stone stack and a rebuilt diagonal shaft, and a coped gable. On the south side, the stonework is visible, alongside a recently installed ground-floor bay window and a new window and casement above. The north wall is constructed of limestone and blue lias stone, and is windowless.
