Description
Willow Barn is a former barn dated 1840. It is constructed of brick with a cogged eaves cornice, decorative ventilation patterns at the gable end, and header ventilation courses. The roof is tiled with scalloped bargeboards. The barn has six bays; the third bay from the west gable end features opposed cart entries – a flat-headed opening to the north and a Tudor-arched opening to the south, both with concrete surrounds and double doors. The south elevation incorporates a window and a door with cambered heads to the left of the wagon bay, followed by two windows with cambered heads, and a stable door with a loft door above at the right end. A datestone is set into the west gable end. Inside, the roof has five intermediate tie-beam trusses that stop at the collar and lack struts, and are supported on brick piers with trenched, single purlins. The barn is floored throughout, except for the wagon bay. It is included on the list for group value.
