Description
The Old Rectory is a rectory that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone alterations and additions in the late 19th century and mid-20th century. The building is constructed of hand-made brick, featuring finely jointed Flemish bond on the front elevation, and has a hipped plain tiled roof with overhanging eaves and brick end stacks.
The structure is two storeys high, with an attic and cellar, and includes a 3-course band between the main storeys. It has five bays, with a three-bay wing attached to the right that is slightly lower in height. All windows are glazing bar sashes with gauged flat heads and moulded architraves. The central entrance of the five-bay section features a doorcase with pilasters and an entablature above, a door with six raised and fielded panels, and a rectangular fanlight with two glazing bars. The adjoining wing has a pair of glazing bar sashes at the left end and one at the right end on both main storeys. On the right side elevation, there is a central doorway with a moulded flat canopy on brackets, a door with six raised and fielded panels, and sidelights.
