Description

The Anchor Inn is a 17th-century building, although much of that period’s original fabric is now hidden. It is constructed of stucco, and is two storeys in height. A projecting gabled wing is located on the right-hand side, with a small gable centrally positioned. The windows are mostly modern casements, with a bay window on the ground floor featuring a moulded cornice. The entrance is via a six-fielded panel door, set within a moulded architrave and a hood supported on slender columns. A low, modern projecting wing extends from the left-hand side. Timber framing is visible on the right-hand return wall. The building is roofed with tiles.

The Anchor Inn forms a group with the Church of St John the Baptist and Wall at Silver Gates, Collingwood House, Old Fladbury Stores, and The Monastery, all located on The Green.
