Description
The Boathouse is a building from the mid- to late 19th century, constructed of red brick with ashlar quoins and dressings, topped with a plain tiled roof. It has a rectangular plan and two levels, with the upper level being taller and rising from a chamfered base. The design is in the Jacobean style, influenced by Flemish architecture.
On the north-east side elevation, there is a side chimney featuring a tall octagonal shaft, flanked by quadrant panels, and two windows on the first floor. The gable ends are adorned with shaped gables that have weathered stone copings and cut finials, along with a blind oculus at the apex and a mullet in relief. The south-west side features a central break with a small shaped gable and a doorway.
