Description

These water pumps, located about two yards north of Mutton Hall, date from the mid-19th century and are made of cast iron. They feature a fluted upper section and a domical cap, although the handle is missing. The name of the foundry, "H INSTON," is inscribed on the west side of the main pump. There is also a smaller, simpler version of the pump situated immediately to the west of the main one. Both pumps are positioned at the south end of a sandstone trough and are prominently placed next to the main entrance of Mutton Hall. They are included for their group value.
