Description

Townsend House is a late 18th century or early 19th century farmhouse located on Spring Lane. It is two storeys tall and constructed of red brick, featuring a half-hipped slate roof and a dentil eaves cornice. The building has three windows on the upper floor, which are hung sashes with glazing bars set in wood cases. The ground floor has two windows with slightly segmental heads. The entrance is a round-headed double-recessed doorway that includes a radiating fanlight and a half-glazed door, sheltered by a shallow porch supported by brick piers and topped with a cornice. The gable end to the right has been rebuilt.
