Description
The Oast House is a mid-19th century building that originally served as hop kilns and a barn, with some early 18th century remains and 20th century alterations. It features a combination of brick and timber-framing with a tiled roof. The east wall includes a two-storey bay on the left with an attic that is lit by a dormer. To the left, there are two circular hop kilns topped with conical rendered roofs. The front kiln has two windows on the ground floor and one on the first floor. To the right is a lower range that was formerly a barn, which has five windows on the ground floor and three dormers in the attic. There is a door to the right of the first window, sheltered by an open tiled porch. The north and west walls of the former barn display exposed timber-framing arranged in three rows of square panels. This building is included for its group value.
