Description

Yew Tree Cottage is a house that dates from the 15th century to the 16th century, originally built with a timber frame. It was refronted and extended to the south in the 19th century, now featuring painted brick. The cottage has a gable-ended roof covered with plain tiles and a rear wall stack. It is one and a half storeys tall and has a brick front facing west, with dentilled eaves. The original design included four windows, two doors, and two windows with cambered heads, although it now has a modern door and porch, along with two modern dormers. Inside, there is an exposed tie-beam-and-collar truss with queen struts at the north end, and the central portion features two half-crucks, which may indicate it was originally an open hall.
