Description
Hilton is a 18th century red brick house located in Upton-upon-Severn on Minge Lane. It is three storeys tall with a basement and features a slate low pitch roof and end wall stacks. The façade includes a range of three windows with a modillion eaves cornice. There are two two-storey, three-sided canted bays with flat tops and iron tent canopies over the windows, along with three additional windows above. The central window on the first floor has a damaged window head and all windows are fitted with glazing bar sashes. A sill course runs along the first floor, with a stringcourse above the basement.
The entrance is marked by a fine central six-panel door set in a broad arched surround, which is topped with a radiating bar fanlight. Stone steps lead up to the door, flanked by cast-iron railings. An elaborate wrought iron porch-screen supports a first-floor balcony, featuring a three-sided design with an arched opening and intricate scroll work, likely added around 1820.
