Description

No. 5 New Street is a mid-18th century building that has been refaced from a 17th-century house. It features painted brick and a plain tile roof, although the dormer has been removed and the eaves altered. There is a brick stack at the west end wall. The ground floor has been modernized, while above, there are two glazing bar sash windows set in gauged brick flat-headed surrounds, which include fluted keystones that support cornices. Inside, there are structural timbers that may indicate the original timber framing.
