Description
The dovecot located to the southwest of Glebe Farmhouse is a 15th-century structure that features a timber frame and a 17th-century brick rear wall. It has a gable-ended roof covered with plain tiles, which includes a small wooden ventilating turret. The east front displays a large pair of restored cruck blades, while the south and north sides are supported by paired tension braces. The exterior also includes plaster panels, and the brick rear wall contains nesting boxes. This dovecot is owned and restored by the Avoncroft Museum of Buildings, as noted in F H Crossley's "Timber Building in England" on Plate 126.
